Project Name: Spring Day with the children
Who are we helping: Hogar Sueño de Amor, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Objective: Spending quality time with the children and donating some supplies.
Cost: 400€
Status: COMPLETE
Date: SEPTEMBER 2024

This past week, we had the privilege of visiting Hogar Sueño de Amor for the second time. It was a day filled with laughter, smiles, and a sense of connection that words can hardly capture. We spent the afternoon with the children, playing and sharing moments that I’ll carry with me for a long time.

One of the highlights of our visit was bringing them something they truly needed—new plates and glasses. Their old ones hadn’t been replaced in six years, and it showed. Everything was a bit worn, but now they have fresh, sturdy tableware to use daily. We also brought some sweet treats, enough to last them for about two months, and seeing their faces light up with excitement was priceless.

What really touched me this time was listening to the children speak. Each of them took a moment to personally thank us for the new plates and glasses. It was a simple gesture on our part, but hearing their gratitude, seeing how something so small can bring them joy, was deeply moving. They were all so eager to ask our photographer to capture their smiles, and honestly, if you saw those smiles – be sure to check our video-, your whole day would change in an instant. Promised them to print pictures and take them to decorate the full place, so now we owe them 😊
It’s hard to describe what these small but incredible souls can give you in just two short hours. Their joy, their resilience—it’s overwhelming in the best way.

Even though these children face immense challenges, they have this beautiful space where they can laugh and share at least one smile every day. The warmth they radiate is immediate; the moment you step inside, they run to you with open arms, offering hugs and love. It’s truly something amazing.

These children are here because, if not, many would spend most of their days alone, wandering the streets. Instead, they’re cared for by incredible women who teach them invaluable life skills. These women are giving them the tools to create their own futures, to believe they can shape their own destinies.

Later, I sent some of the photos we took to Ana, the psychologist at the home. She was so moved by them. She said to me, "Look at those smiles. If you knew their stories, you'd understand that these smiles are EVERYTHING." Her words resonated deeply with us because they reminded us just how much these moments matter.

Thank you once again for being part of these wonderful projects. I hope that through my words, I can give you a glimpse of the joy and connection we experience every time we visit these places. I truly have no words to express how grateful I am for your support in making all of this possible.

Stay tuned—new and AMAZING projects are on the horizon! Sneak peek: Next week, we’re heading to a community in northern Argentina. It’s an 11-hour journey, but it’s sure to be worth every minute. Keep checking in for updates!
