Last month, we surprised Tiziano with the wheelchair he had been dreaming of, and it was a moment filled with pure emotion. When we finally revealed the chair to him, it was clear that this wasn’t just about basketball anymore—it was about freedom, hope, and a future full of possibilities. For those of you who are new to Tiziano’s story, here’s a quick rewind:
Tiziano’s journey began in tragedy. At just three years old, he lost his legs in an accident that also claimed his mother’s life. Raised by his grandmother, he faced more heartache when she passed away suddenly, leaving him in the care of her boyfriend and cousin. But through every hardship, Tiziano showed unshakable strength.
It was Marcelo, stepping in as a mentor and father figure, who introduced Tiziano to basketball—an outlet that would transform his life. Fast forward a few years, and Tiziano didn’t just get good at the sport; he became a rising star, earning a spot on Argentina’s national adapted basketball team and leading his club to new heights.
But the challenges didn’t stop there. Tiziano struggled with financial barriers and an old wheelchair that couldn’t keep up with his performance on the court. That’s when we knew we had to step in.
Thanks to this new wheelchair, Tiziano can now continue to pursue his dream of becoming the best, whether that means playing professionally in Europe or inspiring others who face their own battles.
